After earning her degree, Bishop moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned a graduate degree from Boston University. She then taught at Randolph Middle School and Needham High School.  Last year, Bishop moved back to Sylvania and became a substitute teacher at Perrysburg High School, before being certified as a full-time English teacher here.

“I’ve always loved reading and writing, and I come from a family of educators.  My mom was an English teacher, and my grandfather was the Superintendent of Washington Local Schools.”

For Bishop, “English was always my favorite subject.”

When asked if anything influenced her decision to teach at PHS, Bishop said, “I knew from growing up in the area that it was a good district, not just academically, but athletically.”

In addition to English, Bishop also teaches yoga in her personal time.  She enjoys watching Ohio State football: “I love football season, I love the fall and everything that comes with it.”

Bishop often reads, and enjoys going to the beach with her family in the summer.

She says she has a very good first impression of PHS.
