Located at 18331 Carter Road, south of Perrysburg toward Bowling Green, the Carter Historic Farm is an excellent place for an old soul who wants to travel back days of yore. Featuring various old barns and sheds still occupied by livestock, one can take a tour and reflect on the hard work that people in the 1930s endured in order to make a living. And for younger guests, there is even an old vintage schoolhouse available to the public.

Not only is the vintage farm a great place to learn about past agricultural living, but it also holds a plethora of activities and events. For example, one can go for a class on preserving and canning foods for long-term storage, or bring friends over for a community bonfire, hosted by the staff of the farm. Not only that, but it is also completely free to visit (along with all the other metroparks in the area).

Although the facility buildings are closed for most of the week, only being open from 1-4pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the park grounds are open every day, from 8 AM to 30 minutes after sunset.

Typically, one would spend anywhere from 30 minutes to more than an hour, depending on when the visit is, and how much there currently is to see.

In conclusion, I think it is a crucial place to visit for anyone who is interested in history, farming, nature, or all of the above. I highly recommend it for your next outing with friends.
