The Whitmer-Perrysburg game is bound to be close.

Both teams are 2-0 overall this year. Both teams won its last home game against the other school. The Yellow Jackets go to Whitmer High School for the game at 7 p.m. Friday.

Last year, the Jackets won 48-34. The year before Whitmer won 42-25.

“Whitmer is a very large school so they have twice as many players as we do on our roster,” Perrysburg coach Matt Kregel said. “Our players need to play hard for all four quarters and eliminate turnovers on offense.”

Perrysburg’s defense just shut out St. Francis last week. Whitmer will bring a different challenge, as the Panthers have averaged about 30-points a game so far.
