Wishing for a white Christmas
By Eunice Park
Although the joy of waking up to a sudden school cancellation is one of the greatest feelings in the world, there’s also a lot of joy in waking up to a white Christmas Day for a lot of students.
Jacob Cope, senior at Perrysburg High School, says “having a white Christmas makes you feel kind of warm and nostalgic from when you were a kid.”
The historical trend, according to 13 ABC, for the percentage of a white Christmas in Northwest Ohio is about 46.7 percent. However, the largest amount of snow on Christmas morning was 13 inches back in 1951. It is predicted that there will be a 30 percent chance of precipitation by this coming week.
So, hold onto your Santa hats! The chance seems to be there as the days count down to the wonderful Holidays!
UPDATE: Chances have gone up to 70 percent!
