The ever-growing Art Show is set for May 8

The Perrysburg High School Art Show is right around the corner, and this year it is celebrating “A Decade of Art”. This is the 10th anniversary of the Perrysburg High School Art Show, the special time of year in which art students get to show off their awesome talents, especially the seniors.
It will be May 8 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the commons.
This is the seniors last chance to display their art before graduation, and they get to go out with a bang. Seniors get their very own tables at the show, a tradition started a few years ago to show how talented the senior art students are. Each senior’s table will show off their work.
“The Art Show is a chance for me to show off my talents and show my peers what we do as art students,” senior Taylor Houpt said.
Essentially the Art Show is the piano recital for Intro to Art. Districts for drawing. Playoffs for painting. The championships for ceramics. This is the art program’s shot at showing what it can do, and this effort has paid off.
“The Art Show is growing every year. It’s a great way to promote the art program,” ceramics teacher Mr. Griffith said.
“The arts at Perrysburg are great, and those involved in the department make up a huge percentage of the student body. Just walking past the Art showcases you can see how big the arts are at PHS. As the Art program continues to grow, so will the Art Show.”
