Story by Taylor Houpt
After years of teaching art at Perrysburg High School, Lynn Barefoot still is impressed with the creativity her students provide through her art classes.
She is one of four Perrysburg High School art teachers and guides the Intro to Art class, which develops students skills with tools to utilize in higher level art classes like Drawing, and Advanced Drawing.
She believes that art classes are vital to any type of education and is inspired by her students every day. She says that being a teacher at Perrysburg High School is a satisfying job because she gets to see new, fresh ideas with the materials she gives her students to succeed.
“It’s great to be around students that have really innovative and authentic ideas that inspire me at this point,” Ms. Barefoot said.
“I’ve seen quite a bit. But even now when I come to school every day, its hard to anticipate what somebody’s going to do with the assignment that I may give them with the media that I provide.”
