Perrysburg cruises to 63-7 win over Bowling Green By HANNAH WEIKER STAFF WRITER For Friday night’s game, Jacket fans replaced their usual black and gold for different shades of pink. Even the football player’s wore pink socks for the special event. It was breast cancer awareness night at Steinecker Stadium. This is the second year in a row that Perrysburg High School has teamed up with the Spielman classic and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to promote this important cause. Pre-game festivities included a fly over by a plane carrying a banner with a special message “Hope Soars.” Along with the fly over, doves were also released. The doves were released by fall sports captains in the middle of a ribbon on the field created by the PHS marching band. “I’ve never done anything like this before so it was a great experience. I think it was a great way to honor those fighting breast cancer,” said senior Angela Panzero, a girls cross country team captain. Not only did Hope Soar on the rainy night, but so did the Jackets to an easy victory.
