Corey Whitt, the newest band teacher at Perrysburg High School, is excited and ready to continue teaching here after student teaching at PHS.

The recent graduate from Bowling Green State University said he was fortunate enough to be hired back by the district after his student teaching.

“I wasn’t originally going to come here, but a job opened up and I decided ‘why not?’”said Mr. Whitt.

Originally from Wisconsin, Mr. Whitt marched for his high school marching band. His freshman year in high school, he marched in the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, California, before the Rose Bowl game. That was his favorite high school memory, fittingly with the band.

Mr. Whitt is looking to help start up a number of new music classes. Indoor drumline and music technology are a few examples of classes that could be created in the near future.

Mr. Whitt enjoys teaching at PHS, and is excited for the year to come.
